MANUFACTURING & QUALITY

Even though working in an environmentally and socially conscious way is close to our hearts, we are aware that Laine Label isn’t perfect, and we’re not pretending to be. We’re not interested in greenwashing or polished promises. We’re here to be real about where we are now, and where we want to go next.

Let’s face it, no fashion brand is ever fully sustainable. Producing clothes always leaves a footprint. But we believe that how we produce, how much we produce and why we produce, that’s where the difference is made. We're committed to transparency and responsible production, and continue to deepen this work as the brand grows.

WHERE ARE OUR PRODUCTS MADE?

At Laine Label, quality is never an afterthought. It is built into every decision, from fabric selection to manufacturing partnerships.

Our garments are produced in Dongguan, China, in collaboration with a carefully selected manufacturing partner that specialises in high-quality activewear and loungewear. While China is often associated with mass-produced fast fashion, this perception overlooks a crucial reality: the country is also home to some of the world’s most advanced textile expertise, production technology and skilled craftsmanship. We have chosen to work within this ecosystem consciously. Not for shortcuts, but for excellence.

Our manufacturing partner operates under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system, ensuring structured production processes, thorough quality control and continuous improvement. The factory has also undergone a social compliance audit in accordance with amfori BSCI standards, conducted by an independent third-party inspection body. This audit covers key areas such as working conditions, health and safety, working hours and labour practices. In addition, the factory’s production and trading operations have been independently assessed by TÜV Rheinland, further supporting transparency and operational credibility.

Material choices are equally important to us. Selected fabrics used in our collections are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, meaning they are tested for harmful substances and safe for direct contact with skin. Where applicable, our upstream textile partners also operate under ISO 14001 certified environmental management systems, addressing environmental impact at the fabric production and finishing stage.

China was also selected as our manufacturing base to allow us to offer high-quality, thoughtfully designed products at an accessible price point. While our pricing sits above fast fashion, this approach enables us to keep our collections inclusive and widely available, without compromising on materials, fit or construction.

This decision is deeply informed by lived experience. Our founder has previously lived in China and worked closely with retail businesses and fashion brands on product development and manufacturing. This firsthand understanding of the local industry, standards and working culture allows us to build transparent, long-term partnerships grounded in mutual respect and shared expectations.

ATHLEISURE IS BUILT TO LAST

Our collections aren’t trend-driven. They’re built around timeless, versatile pieces you’ll want to wear again and again. We encourage mindful shopping, buying only what you need and choosing clothes that make sense for real life.

We focus on athleisure and elevated essentials because they’re made to be lived in, at home, at the gym, out and about. By prioritising thoughtful design and durability, our pieces are created with a longer life cycle in mind. You’ll get more wears, more comfort and more value.

So we won’t claim to be the most sustainable brand on the planet. What we are is committed. To transparency, progress and mindful decisions. For us, sustainability isn’t a buzzword, it’s a long game.
